• Annette Rinck, President of Leica Microsystems, stated that the company's new project utilizes innovative digital solutions, not only improving patient treatment outcomes but also having a profound impact on the entire healthcare system. Additionally, Leica is collaborating with universities, hospitals, healthcare agencies, and regional certification agencies to advance clinical research and development, creating value for patients, doctors, and healthcare systems in Singapore and around the world. Leica Microsystems, a German medical instrument manufacturing and research and development company, is investing $6 million ($8.2 million) to establish new medical manufacturing and research and development facilities in Singapore. The facilities were officially opened in August this year. 刘燕玲表示，人才储备优势、强大的制造能力以及充满活力的科研创新生态系统是吸引像徕卡这样的跨国公司在本地不断扩大业务的主要原因。徕卡也将与本地企业建立合作伙伴关系，如PLC industries和杰纬特科技（Grand Venture Technology），来支持公司的生产制造。 设施占地1万7224平方英尺，已获得绿色建筑标志白金认证（Green Mark Platinum Certification）。新加坡是徕卡显微系统医疗显微镜的唯一制造商，贡献公司全球总收入的40%。新一代设施通过物联网科技来进行在线数据分析，以提高生产率和产品质量，并将公司在全球的显微镜产量增加一倍。 贸工部兼文化、社区及青年部政务部长刘燕玲星期二（10月17日）出席剪彩仪式时致辞说，全球人口老龄化使人们对医疗保健需求不断上升。亚太区域不断增长的中产阶级也希望获得更优质的医疗服务。新加坡处于有利地位，将与医疗科技公司一同把握这个机遇。目前，超过60家跨国医疗科技公司在本地设立总部以及制造和研发中心。
